The games between SoJu and Moon were awesome. There was a situation on TR when Moons DH survived cause SoJu’s manaburn was missed otherwise it would have been Sojus game but in my opinion Moon has always kind of a guardian angel who always let him staff his heros at the very last second and giving him a bonus that his heroes survived.

so i finally got around to watching sky vs fov from wc3l finals..here they are again if you haven’t seen them: terenas stand and secret valley

on TS he used paladin and teched to tier 3 without expo against fov’s panda. he seems to be doing this no-expo tech a lot, but i don’t really watch many replays so maybe it’s the standard human strat now? fov uses necrowagon with gargs and sky adds paladin + bloodmage with knights, gyros and late mortars.

SV, sky gets the mountain king and creeps to level 3 but once again techs without expanding. fov got a DK this game and gets an early 2nd crypt but doesn’t make many gargs. sky goes for t2 hawks and eventually expands.

i think sky is so incredibly amazing.. he never seems to lose the same way too many times before moving on to something new. i used to whine a lot about elf having too many choices for units/strategy but it seems like human has a few options too!??! seems like there are new strats out before i’ve even practiced the old ones

but yeah these strats seem to really rely on hitting acolytes and hurting UD economy instead of expanding to get the economic advantage… otherwise hawks vs gargs 1 base vs 1 base SUCKS

We played K1ck for WCIP Season 2 Qualies last Sunday. Yeah, with a shitty lineup we still won 3-1 surprisingly. I was the loss lol. Lost to matta, I guess I deserve it for not practicing.

Uploaded the 3rd game vs matta. I scouted the fiend build, and in my head I was thinking: “I should direct expo at start against fiends” “but you haven’t practiced that, just do what you’ve done most.” So I didn’t expo right away and got owned by Dark Ranger second and fiends. Even then I wasn’t out of the game yet, killing both his heroes. When he hit me I should have just went for his base like I always tell everyone else to do.. but I didn’t have many towers up yet and no farms in front of them, plus I *thought* I had unit advantage, but DESTS AHH.

Still working on my auto-updating replay site. Added a news database and wrote a MYM parser.. almost 3 AM so I”ll continue tomorrow. James said dark background is easier to read (I always thought light backgrounds were easier on the eyes?) so that’s changed. Flame is supposed to be fixing the Demon Hunter image.. but there’s like not even anywhere to put it now. Might just have to make it really transparent I guess. The whole site is a BUNCH OF TEXT.. who wants to look at that.

So Amazon is doing this customer vote thing where people vote on products they want to buy at a huge discount, like PS3 for $139, and then on a certain day people who voted for the winning product will be able to buy it at a discount. Even if you don’t want the product, you can resell it for a quick profit :p Products are like, game consoles, cameras, tivo, dvd stuff, some $1000 notebook(discounted to like $200, easily profit a few hundred reselling it), 46″ TV screen, and others. Ya, check it out.

In the winner bracket finals, SK vs MYM. FoCuS 2-1 Lyn but then xlord 2-1 Susiria.. comes down ReMinD vs Lucifer, game 3 is going on right now but it looks like SK is going to win this match.

Oh yeah, Sweet, my favorite UD player lost to Like…I mean I always say how Like is good but Sweet should have won :p and I guess I should stop saying InFi is bad.

Wow I didn’t know Reis knew German. Damn they talk so fast.

Many players seem to think that for a given hero you pick two abilities and only level those two up. However, sometimes at level 4 it’s a good idea to get the 3rd ability rather than get the next level of a previous picked skill.

A few common examples of this are the Pandaren Brewmaster, Death Knight, and Lich. Panda’s Drunken Haze has great synergy with Breath of Fire, giving  Damage over Time, so it’s nice to get the first level of haze especially earlier before your opponent has enough dispel. His Drunken Brawler ability is also good though, so a lot of times the skill order for panda might go Breath-Haze-Breath-Brawler. ( by the way, anyone remember 1.17 haze slow 50% at level 1? hahaha that was a joke )

With Death Knight, many players will go Death Coil, Unholy Aura, Death Coil and then Death Pact at level four. Death Pact really helps to keep your DK at a healthy hit point level.. not that DK ever dies anyway.

With Lich, I don’t know if real Undead players do this but I’ll often go Nova-Frost Armor-Nova-Dark Ritual. Level 1 Dark Ritual isn’t much, but I still think it’s nice to have it in addition to frost armor’s melee-attacker-slow ability.

DOTA! I use this concept in DotA a lot as well and certainly other players do too. To give a couple examples:

Dragon Knight: For the early levels I mainly level up the Breath of Fire and the passive ability (don’t remember what it’s called). BUT at level 3 I will first get one level of Dragon Tail (the stunning ability, I think this is the correct name). Dragon Tail’s first level already has a long stun and additional levels only add .25 seconds and not a lot of damage. So you get level one’s very decent stun, and then level up the passive ability.

Queen of Pain: Same idea for this hero. If I don’t plan to be blinking a lot, I level up mainly Shadow Strike and Scream of Pain, but I’ll first get 1 level of blink for running away or early chasing.

Another example is Venomancer’s passive ability, which slows heroes by the same percent for all levels. (but in this case, I would get +2 stats instead of the 3rd ability usually)
