Today I added a new tool to demonreps.com You can query for 5 recent replays and have them html formatted by passing a format string in the url. The recent replays on this blog now uses this. The query url is this long stuff

That’s url encoded, and I’m not going to post decoded version cause wordpress doesn’t like stuff like that :P

So now users have a choice in adding a recent replays module to their site. They can use this new tool, or the XML that is still available and currently gives more details. I hope people start using it >_>. Haven’t been advertising it too much yet because everything’s not really “finished”.

Top of the to do list:

- Add user deactivation
- Add an emailing/newsletter system. This should be a pretty big task, depending on how complicated I get. I will probably just keep it a simple with only email blasting (mass send) to certain usergroups so it doesn’t take me too long. User deactivation has to come first so people can “opt out” of receiving emails.

Eventually I’m fantasizing (as in, probably won’t work out :p) about adding a DemonReps.com store, with hoodies and what not. User and clan pages.. like a sort of social networking thing for warcraft? Expandable to SCII… XD IDK we’ll see where it goes.. dream big much?

Of course nothing is ever going to happen without users.. haven’t made 10 dollars off advertising.. Since launch, visitor stats have pretty much been the same.. addition of the public replays has made it go up a little bit.. hopefully it’ll explode and we’ll get some non-linear growth.

I got around to working on DemonReps. Yesterday I released a beta version of public replays. It allows anyone to create an account and replay database, with upload/delete passwords for public use. Replays from all the databases are shown on the front page. Each database also has its own page. Here’s mine.

So I will start posting my replays there instead of at forelmashi. The ‘recent replays’ on this site won’t be changed for a couple days cause I have a boatload of stuff to do.

- XML feed of recent replays
- Standalone version for easy embedding into sites. Customizable colors.

- Maybe get Spenser to make some nice custom images. Spenser made all the DemonReps banners like this one. I just added the text.
- User profiles/pages
- User saveable Bookmarks/Quicklinks, for easy navigation to favorite databases for example
- Find/hire someone to AJAX this stuff, make it more 2.0ish. Or just use it as a ‘learning experience’ myself when I have time

Anyway, what you can do is fake a tower rush at tier 1 against Elf; the elf will usually put down a Moon Well or Ancient of War to defend against a tower rush. Return your militia and enjoy a faster tech.

Actually, I just looked up Sky’s game. He was actually rushing an early AoW, late hunters hall, huntress opening. Immediately at the start he ran to the Elf’s base with 3 militia. The Elf then responded by canceling his hunters hall and building a second AoW.

Nevertheless, it’s been working okay for me.

Yeah I made a few critical mistakes. Third map would have been Lost Temple. But then again I don’t think I’ve ever beaten Yane on Lost Temple in my entire life anyway. Kind of sucks cause I was all mentally prepared for GW + LT. GW got close spawn and didn’t get to play LT :( LT I was going to T2 rifle/caster/mortar push his tier 2 expansion (assuming he tier 2 expands). Otherwise mass gyro building kill xd…

This is pretty basic, but whatever.

As you may or may not know, towers do not give your heroes experience when they kill units. So when you surround a unit in your base or something, you want to make sure your tower does not get the last hit. One way to do this is hit ’stop’ on the tower to keep it from attacking when the unit you’re killing is low hp. Alternatively, you can make the tower attack your main hall or another building; instead of spamming ’s’ on your tower, you can do other stuff now.

Just make sure you don’t forget about it :P

So I played Shortround for ESWC US qualifier a few days ago. Result: 2-0. Replays are posted. Yane next round, no chance to win really :p

So the format for WCG regional qualifier is like, 1 from each of the 3 tournaments and then the 2nd places play some thing. So.. idk if I’m going to make regionals this year =[. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT, YEAH?

So now that I’m 18 I plan on getting into stocks and poker ^_^

So my opponent got time zones mixed up and forfeited me for not showing 3 hours early. This made me believe I got time zones mixed up and I didn’t show at the correct time 3 hours later. So I got forfeited for no-showing anyway.

WTF? The WCG administrator guy says he can’t force my opponent to play it.. so we’ll see. I could keep ranting about how this is such bullshit but no one cares, so whatever. (I don’t care THAT much either… it’s just kind of an ironic ‘you got screwed lol’ kind of bullshit)

In other news, Warcraft still sucks.

Oh yeah, TeD killing all the orcs in ROTK was pretty cool. I watched some of them.

In other news, magic has brought it to my attention that I am ranked pretty high in gosugamers’ rankings.. (well not that high, but still surprisingly..)

Right now I’m rank 77 HAHAHA. Looks like the BCL wins were counted… big fluke? haha. Damn, the inactivity penalties are owning me :(
