let’s talk about warcraft!
anyone have topics they want to discuss?
I’ll just spit out some drivel on random stuff in this post.
I’m having a hard time vs glaive strats.. dunno what the hard counter is (or any good counter).
Back to MK for mirror; panda is too hard.
I don’t know how to beat orc anymore, because the old tier 2 push just doesn’t work. I think maybe you have to expo at tier 2 now? Orc tier 2 is kind of strong =\ In the 2009 tournament ladder I’m just winning cause there aren’t any really good orcs, lol. I’m like forcing an expo every game with Archmage and winning like that…
I’ve started scouting on LT in mirror. I scout the first clockwise location and build a farm with the scout peasant.

I have plenty to discuss, especially since we both play the same race. But I’m not too sure I have any valid points given the difference in skill level between us =p
just ask questions and if they’re stupid I’ll ignore them :p
but yeah I’m so confused vs elf.. even when I’m trying I can lose to the bad ones. if I’m trying really hard usually I won’t lose to bad undeads. mass tier 1 elf is really so imba..
vs. orcs you can still do the t2 push, but I feel it fails if you can’t kill a burrow or two or cancel t2 buildings. Just split creep and shit keep am at high hp. 5 on SH is gg no doubt though, unless you pull a lucky surround. You can learn MK first and you’ll be fine on MV/EI.
I can’t beat glaive strats either. I hate elf in general. SV is ridiculous trying to expo. TS you get glaive pushed. TM is just -_-. MV panda first hurts. The mappool just rapes for elves because they can t-down Lost Temple. Only thing I can think of for glaive strats is Zep micro and stuff.
I find panda fine for mirror. If I get an expo up it can rape because you can go t3 and rape any t3 they get with haze fire. You just gotta keep some pots – -, that’s how I lost last night in a t3 battle, he killed my AM so panda had no mana regen and I lost.
IDK, I’m improving rapidly playing alot but I’m not close to being as good as you, so some of my stuff might sound stupid – -. I need huge help vs elf on any map. I keep getting bullshit spawns too, like I played deuce close spawn trock and got rape, next game I got phreak on RtS (after that, I t-downed that gay map). If you could give some pointers on just DH/Panda or Panda solo(on mv) in general it would be helpful >_>
Well I’m forever sour about losing to mass huntress style players, I’ve started with a mill to attempt to get guard towers up before they hit my base, but then of course that equates to a slow hero, and we all know how badly we need those level 2 water elementals to counter elf. By the time my hero is out, their hero is level 5 from aow creeping the whole map. (sarcasm ofc). It seems as if races like human and undead don’t give as much leeway for error. But I could be wrong and biased. Do you just force an expansion in those situations?
Elf Meadows is especially terrible.
I think blizzard designed elf during april fools and gave them tier 1 siege for the luls.
As for orc, it seems that I personally make games harder than I should simply because I never took the time to learn MK first, especially on maps like MV. I’m probably one of the few fools left that still start off AM/caster type because I don’t feel comfortable using MK. There’s only so much I can do, I mean what is the combination of sorc/priest/breaker ratio? I think that’s what it comes down to sometimes.
Hu mirror? I don’t know, I guess it comes down to proper scouting and just focus firing with breakers. The last thing you want to do is run into the other player’s base with 5 breakers to recieve a warm welcome from 5 knights because you didn’t decide to pay a visit with a peasant or something. In breaker battles, I know that it’s all about focus firing etc, and juggling the breakers back and forth. But those tier 3 battles sometimes gets confusing and half the time I lose because I don’t know what to do anymore aside from attack moving, dispelling and aiming mortars or something. What do you do?
As for undead, I guess it’s ok, heavily map dependant. Feel much more comfortable on maps that allow an expansion, with mercs like EI, TS, rather than playing one on a map like TR. I guess if don’t hate everyone that day I’ll play to win, and if I wake up annoyed then I’ll rage and quit after I lose a footman.
